Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have structural heart disease (like a weak heart muscle or valve problem)
- You have electrical storm (repeated dangerous heart rhythms) that hasn't stopped with standard medicines, or you can't take those medicines due to side effects
- You have not had a heart transplant or nerve-cutting heart surgery
- Your neck is healthy (no prior neck surgery, burns, large scars, or thyroid goiter)
- You do not have a genetic form of abnormal heart rhythm called polymorphic VT
- You are not on dialysis for end-stage kidney disease
