Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have been admitted to the NeuroICU within the last 36 hours.
  • You must have a condition like a stroke, brain bleed, moderate-severe head injury, or need a breathing tube or blood pressure support.
  • You cannot have a pacemaker or other implanted electrical device.
  • You cannot be pregnant or have an active COVID-19 infection.
  • You must not have a very low heart rate (below 50 beats per minute for more than 5 minutes) at arrival.
