Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have a partial-thickness rotator cuff tear (less than half the tendon is torn).
  • You have had shoulder pain, weakness, or limited movement for more than 3 months, even after trying treatments like physical therapy.
  • Your usual shoulder pain is at least 4 out of 10 on a standard pain scale.
  • You have not had any shoulder surgeries in the past year, or injections (like steroids) in the last 3 months.
  • You are willing to stop taking other pain medications for your shoulder (except a small amount of acetaminophen) during the study.
  • You are generally healthy with no major medical conditions that could interfere with the study.
