Who can take part

  • You are 21 years or older.
  • You had only one stroke (either ischemic or hemorrhagic) at least 6 months ago, confirmed by a brain scan.
  • You have weakness in one arm, but not total paralysis (a specific test will check this).
  • You do not have other nerve or muscle conditions, uncontrolled depression, or memory loss diseases.
  • You do not have untreated high blood pressure (your blood pressure should be less than 185/110 at enrollment).
  • You are able to undergo MRI and are not pregnant.
