Exercise plus CBT for depression: The CBT+ Trial

Who can take part

  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of major depressive disorder (by a doctor or mental health professional)
  • Current depression symptoms at least mild (score of 8 or higher on a standard depression scale)
  • Either not on any mental health meds/treatment, or on a stable treatment plan for at least 8 weeks
  • Be physically able to exercise safely (no medical reason to avoid moderate activity)
  • Never had structured Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) before
