Who can take part
- You are currently in the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) with an invasive central venous pressure monitor already in place
- You have no more than moderate tricuspid regurgitation (a heart valve leak) based on a recent echocardiogram
- Your external jugular veins (visible veins in the neck) must be seen on both sides
- You have no history of blood clots in the external or internal jugular veins, brachiocephalic vein, or superior vena cava
- You do not have any skin issues, dressings, or access sites covering your neck that would block access to the external jugular veins
- You must not be on positive pressure ventilation (a breathing machine or mask that pushes air into your lungs)
