  • You have had heart failure for at least 3 months
  • You are now in the hospital because your heart failure got worse
  • You already have a small IV tube in your arm
  • You speak English
  • You do not have a blood clot or infection in the arm with the IV
  • You have not had a heart attack or stroke in the last 2 months
