Who can take part

  • You have hearing loss in both ears that is similar and caused by the inner ear (sensorineural), with hearing levels ranging from normal to severe.
  • Your ear canals and eardrums look healthy on a routine ear exam, and your middle ear is air-filled in both ears.
  • You can speak and understand English.
  • You have not had any major current or past outer or middle ear problems, such as infections, surgeries, or a neurological or cognitive condition.
  • You do not have an active ear infection.
