Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You lost hearing in one ear after learning to speak, and that ear now has severe to total hearing loss
  • Your better ear has normal or near-normal hearing
  • You have a MED-EL cochlear implant with certain types of electrodes (like Flex or Standard)
  • You will use a newer MED-EL audio processor (SONNET 2, SONNET 3, or RONDO 3)
  • You are fluent in the language used at the testing center
