Who can take part
- You or your child is at least 5 years old and has been diagnosed with lupus (SLE).
- Lupus is still moderate to severe (SLEDAI-2K score at least 8) despite trying high-dose steroids, hydroxychloroquine, and two or more other lupus medicines, or you cannot tolerate standard treatments.
- Your heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs are working well enough (tests will check this).
- You can have cells collected through a blood draw or apheresis, and do not have any reason that would make this unsafe.
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you have a negative pregnancy test and agree to use birth control for one year after treatment.
