  • You are scheduled for a total knee replacement that will be done as an outpatient (you go home the same day)
  • You are considered a healthy or moderately healthy patient (ASA class I-III)
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is under 40
  • You are able to provide your own consent for surgery
  • You do not take strong pain medicines (opioids) regularly or for a long time
