Who can take part
- You are between 21 and 85 years old
- You are having a planned (elective) knee surgery on one knee, such as a total knee replacement, ACL repair, or knee scope
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or less
- You do not have a bleeding disorder, infection near the injection site, or allergy to the study drugs
- You do not have severe liver, kidney, heart, nerve, or lung disease
- You are not a long-term user of strong pain medicines (opioids) for more than 3 months, or taking more than 5 mg of morphine daily for a month
