Night owl sleep study: how sleep affects gut bacteria

This study looks at how different sleep patterns (short or long sleep) affect the bacteria in your gut. You will wear a sleep tracker, record your sleep and diet, and provide stool samples to see if changing your sleep schedule changes your gut health.

  • Men ages 20-50 or women ages 20-45 who are not yet in menopause
  • Body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 35
  • Healthy, with no diagnosed sleep or gut disorders
  • Able to adjust your bedtime and sleep schedule for the study
  • Not taking antibiotics, probiotics, or certain medications in the past few months
