Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have at least 3 broken ribs that need surgery to stabilize them.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder that has not been treated.
  • You do not have osteoporosis or broken bones caused by disease.
  • You are not in respiratory failure or unstable enough to need emergency surgery.
  • You are willing and able to give written consent to be in the study.
