  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
  • You receive care at a family medicine unit in Coahuila, Jalisco, or Veracruz, Mexico.
  • You are willing to take part and can understand the study procedures.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not currently use steroids or smoke tobacco, and you have no recent infections or serious health events.
