Who can take part

  • You are 21 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled for a planned (not emergency) procedure to open a blocked heart artery (PCI).
  • Your blocked artery has moderate or heavy calcium buildup, seen on X-ray or imaging.
  • You are stable (not in cardiac arrest, shock, or unconscious).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you can give informed consent.
