Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 3 and 5 years old.
  • Your child needs root canal treatment on a front baby tooth because of an infected or dying nerve (irreversible pulpitis).
  • Your child should be able to cooperate during the dental procedure.
  • You must sign a consent form agreeing to the study.
  • Your child cannot have any serious medical conditions, advanced tooth root damage, or a tooth that can't be fixed with a filling or crown.
  • Your child cannot have an abscess or fistula (a pimple-like bump on the gum) on the tooth being treated.
  • Your child must not be allergic to zinc oxide, olive oil, calcium hydroxide, or Metapex ingredients.
  • You must be able to bring your child to follow-up appointments.
