Who can take part
- You are 65 years or older.
- You are scheduled for a total knee replacement (one knee) under general anesthesia (you will be asleep).
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30 (a healthy to moderately overweight range).
- You have no serious mental health conditions, can think clearly, and communicate well.
- You do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure (above 180/100 mmHg), severe lung disease, or significant liver or kidney problems.
- You do not have a history of drug abuse or heavy alcohol use (more than 2 drinks per day).
