Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or liver disease of unknown cause.
- You can have mild to moderate alcohol intake (less than 60 grams per day for men, 40 grams per day for women).
- If you are a man with type 2 diabetes or obesity, you must have certain genetic changes in the PNPLA3, TM6SF2, or MBOAT7 genes.
- You do not have hepatitis B or C or autoimmune hepatitis.
- You do not have other gene-related liver diseases (like hemochromatosis, Wilson's disease, or alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency).
- You have not been previously diagnosed with liver cancer.
