Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma at the gastroesophageal junction (where the stomach meets the esophagus) that is stage III and can be surgically removed.
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have not had any previous cancer treatment for this disease, such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery.
- Your overall health is reasonably good, with a performance status of 0 to 2 (able to care for yourself).
- Your heart, liver, kidney, and blood cell counts are within acceptable limits as shown by lab tests.
- If you are able to have children, you agree to use effective contraception during and for a period after the study.
