Who can take part

  • Your rectal cancer must have normal DNA repair (called pMMR or MSS).
  • The tumor must be within about 2 inches (5 cm) of the anal opening.
  • You cannot have had any prior surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation for colorectal cancer.
  • Your cancer must not have spread to distant organs (like the liver or lungs).
  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old and in generally good health (able to perform daily activities).
  • No active autoimmune diseases or need for long-term immune-suppressing drugs.
