Who can take part
- You are 18 or older
- You have septic shock (severe infection causing very low blood pressure that needs medicine to raise it, and high blood lactate)
- You already have a central line (a special IV in a large vein near the neck or chest) to measure CVP
- You are not pregnant
- You do not have serious right-side heart failure or a leaky tricuspid valve
- You do not have high belly pressure or an irregular heartbeat (like atrial fibrillation)
