Comparing two ultrasound methods to guide fluid therapy in septic patients on ventilators

Fluid Responsiveness Predictability in Sepsis

Who can take part

  • You are an adult in the ICU with sepsis and on a ventilator
  • You need extra fluids because of low blood pressure, fast heart rate, or low urine output
  • You do not have a brain injury or recent brain surgery that would make certain fluid tests unsafe
  • You do not have heart failure, severe heart valve problems, or a very irregular heartbeat
  • You do not have lung conditions like severe asthma, high blood pressure in the lungs, or a blood clot in the lung
