Who can take part
- Age 50 or older
- Diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica (either new or not improving with treatment)
- Not taking steroids, or taking less than 15 mg of prednisone per day for at least 2 weeks before starting
- Active disease (PMR-AS-CRP score greater than 17)
- No other inflammatory joint disease, connective tissue disease, or blood vessel inflammation
