Who can take part

  • You are 55 years or older.
  • You have a diagnosis of CPPD disease (pseudogout).
  • You have active arthritis or tendon swelling in your hands/wrists, or repeated attacks in large joints.
  • You are willing and able to have a small tissue sample (biopsy) taken from your knee or wrist.
  • Women must be past menopause (no period for 12 months). Men must use effective birth control or have a partner past menopause.
  • You do not have recent serious infections, blood clots, cancer, or other conditions that make baricitinib unsafe.
