Nerve block for pain after cleft palate surgery in children

This study looks back at the medical records of children who had cleft palate surgery in 2017 or 2018. It compares how long they stayed in the hospital and their pain needs after surgery, between those who got standard pain medicine alone and those who also got a nerve block to help with pain.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 3 months and 15 years old.
  • Your child had cleft palate surgery between 2017 and 2018.
  • We need complete medical records from that surgery, including notes from the surgery, anesthesia records, and discharge papers.
  • Your child received either standard pain medicine alone or standard pain medicine plus a special nerve block (SZMNB) during the surgery.
