Who can take part

  • You must have either knee pain (at least 4 out of 10 most days for 3 months), or a fibromyalgia diagnosis (with similar pain), or be pain-free with no osteoarthritis.
  • Your BMI must be 35 or less, and your weight must be under 250 kg.
  • You cannot be pregnant (if you are a woman).
  • You must be able to give consent and complete the study assessments.
  • You must not have done heavy exercise in the last 24 hours, and not had alcohol or caffeine on test day.
