Filter to catch debris during leg artery cleaning

This trial tests a special filter that catches debris during a procedure to clear blockages in the leg artery (the one behind the knee). It aims to reduce the risk of debris traveling to smaller blood vessels, which can cause complications. If you have a hardened leg artery and plan to have plaque removal before a stent or balloon, this study may be for you.

Who can take part

  • You are older than 18 and expected to live more than 2 years.
  • You have moderate to severe hardening (calcification) in your leg artery, causing pain when walking or sores on your foot.
  • You need a procedure that removes plaque from the leg artery before a balloon or stent is placed.
  • You have not had a stroke, heart attack, or serious bleeding in the last 3 months.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding and have no known allergies to the medicines used in the procedure.
