Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a newly diagnosed glioblastoma (a type of brain cancer) and will receive the standard radiation plus chemotherapy (temozolomide) after surgery
  • Your level of daily function is fairly good — a Karnofsky score of at least 70 (you can care for yourself but might not be able to do heavy activities)
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy, and if you could have children, you agree to use effective birth control during the trial and for 6 months after
  • You have no serious depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or recent thoughts of suicide or harming others
  • You have no other active cancers (unless they have been gone without treatment for at least 1 year)
