Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You must have one of these conditions: Focal Cortical Dysplasia Type II (confirmed by MRI or biopsy), Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, or Hemimegalencephaly (confirmed by MRI).
  • Your seizures have not been controlled by at least 2 different seizure medicines at the right doses.
  • You have had at least 8 countable seizures per month for at least 2 out of the last 3 months.
  • If you are on a ketogenic or modified Atkins diet, it must stay the same during the study.
  • If you have a brain-stimulation device (like VNS, RNS, or DBS), it must have been implanted for at least a year with stable settings for 3 months, and the battery must last through the study.
