Who can take part

  • Adult patients (18 years or older).
  • Undergoing a procedure to remove kidney stones (lithotripsy) with a temporary ureteral stent (DJ stent) placed.
  • Be stone-free after the procedure.
  • Plan to have the stent in place for about 1 month.
  • Have a negative urine test for infection before the procedure.
  • Not allergic to linezolid or certain mucolytic medications.
  • Not have chronic kidney disease.
  • Not be immunocompromised (e.g., due to chemotherapy or long-term steroid use).
  • Not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
