  • You have a confirmed head or neck cancer
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You are scheduled to receive radiation therapy to your mouth or throat area with a total dose of at least 60 Gy
  • You have not had radiation to your head or neck before
  • You have no serious heart, liver, or kidney problems, and no active mouth infections
