PRF for Nerve Recovery After Jaw Fracture
Part of Ear, nose & throat, Injuries & trauma, Mouth & dental, Pain clinical trials.
This study tests if a natural blood concentrate (PRF) placed at the fracture site can help restore feeling in your lip and chin after a broken jaw. If you have numbness from a specific type of jaw fracture, this treatment might improve your recovery.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

- You have a broken lower jaw (mandible) that involves the nerve opening called the mental foramen
- You have numbness or reduced feeling in your lip or chin before surgery

This trial tests whether using a special blood product (leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin, or L-PRF) during surgery for a jawbone condition called MRONJ helps improve healing. Patients who need surgery under general anesthesia for advanced MRONJ may be able to join.
This study tests whether injecting iPRF (a therapy made from your blood growth factors) into the jaw joint can reduce symptoms from mild to moderate jaw joint degeneration. It’s being compared against standard care for people who currently are not on other jaw-joint treatments.
This trial tests whether putting a special blood concentrate from your own platelets into the tooth socket after an extraction helps the bone heal better and prevent a serious jaw condition (MRONJ) in people at high risk due to certain medications like bisphosphonates or denosumab.
This trial tests whether applying a special gel made from your own blood (platelet-rich fibrin, or PRF) to the tooth sockets after extraction can help the gums heal better before radiation therapy starts. It's for people with head and neck cancer who need to have teeth removed on both sides of the jaw.
This study tests whether a special laser treatment can help nerves in the jaw heal faster after a common type of jaw surgery. If it works, it could reduce numbness and tingling in the face, lips, and chin.
This Phase 3 study tests whether applying a healing material called platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) around the nerve during disc herniation surgery can reduce leftover nerve pain afterward. If you qualify, your team will compare pain intensity between standard care and PRF during the operation.
