Who can take part

  • You are 25 years or older and willing to sign a consent form.
  • You have taken medications for cancer or osteoporosis that affect bone turnover (like bisphosphonates or denosumab), or you have taken bisphosphonates for osteoporosis for over 5 years.
  • You need to have one or more back teeth (premolars or molars) removed.
  • You are at high risk for a jaw bone condition called MRONJ (based on dental guidelines).
  • You do not currently have MRONJ in the area of the tooth removal, and you have not had radiation therapy or cancer that spread to the jaw area.
