Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been on a breathing machine for at least 24 hours and will need it for at least 2 more days
  • You are sedated but can still show some breathing effort
  • Your blood pressure and heart rate are stable
  • Your chest size fits between 78 and 111.9 cm (about 30.7 to 44 inches) around
  • You have no injuries or conditions that prevent being turned on your side
