Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- Your doctor has said you need an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) because of heart-rhythm problems.
- You do not already have a pacemaker or another electrical device in your body.
- You have not had open-chest surgery or any surgery that affects your breastbone.
- Your heart's pumping ability is at least 20%.
- Your lungs are healthy enough (FEV1 above 1.0 liter).
