Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of Takayasu arteritis and be between 18 and 60 years old.
  • Your current treatment must include both steroids and methotrexate, and you must have been on a stable dose for at least 3 months.
  • You must have imaging evidence of artery wall thickening, narrowing, or new symptoms like pulse loss or blood pressure differences.
  • You cannot have other autoimmune diseases (like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis) or have taken certain medications recently.
  • You must be willing to avoid specific drugs that interact with the study medication (like some antibiotics, antifungals, or heart medications).
