Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with active Takayasu's arteritis (NIH score of 2 or more).
  • If you are female, you must have a negative pregnancy test and agree not to become pregnant during the trial.
  • If you are taking steroids (prednisone or similar), your dose is stable and no more than 0.6 mg per kg of body weight per day.
  • You are willing to stop any other arthritis medications for a specific period before starting the trial, as directed.
  • You do not have active infections like hepatitis B, active tuberculosis, or cancer.
  • You do not have severe organ failure or other autoimmune diseases.
