Who can take part

  • You are 75 years old or younger.
  • Your lung cancer is early stage (T1) and the main tumor is 3 cm or smaller. If there are other suspicious spots, they must be in the same lung lobe and you'll need no more than 3 removed total.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is below 25.
  • You have good heart and lung function — able to walk 350 meters in 6 minutes, with normal breathing and heart pump strength.
  • You have not had surgery on the same side of the lung before, and you do not have severe lung conditions like pulmonary fibrosis or uncontrolled asthma.
