Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) that has lasted continuously for at least 7 days but no more than 5 years.
- You are scheduled to have your first catheter ablation (a procedure to correct the heart rhythm) for AF.
- You do not have diabetes, heart failure, or chronic kidney disease (your kidney function is normal).
- A heart scan (CT or MRI) has shown increased fat around your heart (epicardial adipose tissue).
