- You were diagnosed with atrial fibrillation less than a year ago.
- You have either paroxysmal or persistent AF that lasts more than 30 seconds.
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have not tried any rhythm control treatment yet.

- You do not have heart failure or a reversible cause of AF like thyroid problems.
