Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You have a first-time or repeat collapsed lung (pneumothorax) that is large (at least 30% collapse on x-ray).
  • You are stable enough to be watched without urgent treatment (good blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen, and breathing).
  • You do not have a chronic lung disease (like COPD, cystic fibrosis, or lung cancer).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
