Oxygen therapy and blood markers in ICU patients with sepsis

Hyperoxia / High FiO₂ ExposureUric Acid/Albumin Ratio (UAR)

Part of Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study looks at how early oxygen levels relate to changes in two blood markers (uric acid and albumin) in patients with sepsis in the intensive care unit. It may help doctors understand how oxygen treatment affects recovery.

NCT07332715Not yet recruiting
Uric acid and lactate levels in older sepsis patients

This trial studies whether uric acid and lactate levels can help predict outcomes in sepsis patients aged 65 and older who are admitted to the intensive care unit. It aims to find better ways to monitor patients and guide treatment.

NCT07377162Recruiting
Hyperoxia effects on brain blood flow in ICU patients

This trial studies how giving extra oxygen (hyperoxia) affects blood flow in the brain for patients on a breathing machine in the intensive care unit. The goal is to see if short bursts of higher oxygen levels are safe and how they change brain activity.

NCT06320509Recruiting
Using urine oxygen to predict kidney recovery in shock

This study is testing if measuring oxygen levels in urine can help predict when kidney injury starts or gets better in ICU patients with shock. It aims to guide treatment earlier and avoid kidney damage.

NCT05409573Recruiting
Check oxygen monitoring during pre-intubation in the ICU

This study tests whether a specific oxygen level monitor (end-tidal oxygen, or EtO2) can be used during “preoxygenation” before breathing tube placement. It may help clinicians intubate more safely for people who urgently need a breathing tube due to serious breathing failure.

NCT04772183Recruiting
Testing pulse oximeters against a blood-gas test in ICU

This trial compares how well different fingertip pulse oximeters measure oxygen levels, using an arterial blood test as the reference. It may help improve oxygen monitoring for ICU patients, especially when measurements can be hard or inaccurate.

Montreal, Quebec
NCT06501118Recruiting
Oxygen levels in ICU patients on breathing machines

This study tests whether giving a little more oxygen to ICU patients on breathing machines leads to better recovery. It compares usual oxygen levels to a more liberal target to see which is safer and more effective.
