Ultrasound with contrast for pituitary tumor surgery

Who can take part

  • You are diagnosed with Cushing's disease or another type of pituitary tumor that needs surgery.
  • You are willing to have the surgery through your nose (transsphenoidal resection).
  • You are not allergic to contrast agents (microbubbles, perflutren, or polyethylene glycol).
  • You are not pregnant (if applicable, a pregnancy test will be done).
  • You do not have a heart shunt (right-to-left, bidirectional, or temporary).
