Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have cardiogenic shock (severe heart failure causing low blood pressure and organ damage) that is classified as moderate to severe.
  • You have not been on heart-supporting medications (catecholamines) for more than 24 hours straight.
  • You do not have severe chronic kidney disease (stage 4 or 5) or need dialysis.
  • You are not already on a mechanical heart pump before entering the study.
  • You do not have a known allergy to the drug norepinephrine (used to raise blood pressure).
