Who can take part

  • You have had a recent heart attack (STEMI or NSTEMI)
  • You received early heart treatment with a PCI procedure (a tube procedure to open blocked arteries)
  • You have cardiogenic shock: your top blood pressure is low for over 30 minutes, or you need medicines to keep it above 90 at the time of randomization
  • You show at least one sign that organs aren’t getting enough blood (like confusion, very cold/clammy skin, very low urine, or high lactate)
  • You also have signs of fluid buildup in the lungs
  • You were not shocked for more than 12 hours, and you did not need resuscitation for more than 30 minutes
