Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 84 years old.
  • You must have had a recent stroke with a blockage in the M2 branch of the middle cerebral artery (a main brain artery).
  • Before the stroke, you were able to do all your usual daily activities without help.
  • Your stroke symptoms must be moderate to severe (NIHSS score of 8 or more).
  • You must be able to start the procedure within 24 hours of the time you were last known to be well, and within 30 minutes of being assigned to this treatment.
