Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are scheduled for planned (not emergency) laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer.
  • You have a physical health status rated I, II, or III according to the ASA system (a standard anesthesia rating).
  • You are not pregnant.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is not greater than 40.
  • You do not have severe chronic lung disease (COPD stage III or IV) or advanced heart failure with a pumping function below 35%.
