Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and currently in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- You have been diagnosed with severe community-acquired pneumonia and need a breathing tube or have low blood pressure not helped by fluids.
- A lab test (PCR, nasal swab, or deep lung sample) has confirmed you have Chlamydia psittaci infection.
- You do not currently need strong blood pressure medication for septic shock at the time you start the trial.
- You are not already taking high doses of steroids (more than 15 mg of prednisone daily) or have a condition that requires long-term steroid treatment.
