Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a severe breathing problem (ARDS) or a serious infection that affects your whole body (sepsis).
- You are on a breathing machine (ventilator) in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- Your doctor can start the study medicine within 3 days (72 hours) of your breathing problem starting.
- You do not have certain conditions like recent heart surgery, long-term steroid use, or a weakened immune system.
